Whale watching in Los Cabos

Los Cabos Whale watching & Snorkel Combo

  • Combo Snorkeling + Whale watching
  • December 15 – April 15th

We start with a ride out into the blue for a 2 hour of Whale watching to look for the spectacular Humpbacks breaching, slapping and fluking, then 1 hour of Snorkeling . This tour can be private or shared with others. We operate this tour at either port of Los Cabos: San Lucas or San Jose.

If we’re lucky we might almost spot grey whales, Orcas and blue whales. After whale watching we will finish the tour at a snorkel site to check out the other amazing fish life that we have living here in the Sea of Cortez. We often spot pufferfish, tangs, parrot fish, rays, occasional turtles and more!

Tours available from San Lucas or San Jose From December 15 – April 15th.

My family and I went on a Whale Watching and Snorkeling combo tour in Early Feb 2020. The trip itself was very enjoyable. The crew members(both our guid and captain) are kind, adventurous and stay being on top of everything. A few…

Whale watching and snorkel private tour

Laura was very easy to work with and her tour guides made the whale watching memorable. They let us adjust to how much whale watching vs sborkeling we wanted to do. Excellent views.of whales interacting and jumping.

Amazing time, wonderful company, and fantastic guides!

Laura and her company, Cabo Private Guide, were highly recommended on the Pueblo Buento Owners Group. I called several other companies, and chose Laura's because of her great communication, prices, and custom trip for my group. She was wonderful about explaining where…

Great Hassle Free Snorkeling Experience

Laura and the crew were great snorkeling guides. I was traveling with my girlfriend and her son who aren't the strongest swimmers. Laura was fantastic with them both and we had a great time. We visited both Chileno Bay and Pelican Rock…

Our Whale Watching Tours in Los Cabos

After try on snorkel equipment and sign waivers, your guide will then take you to the boat. Once on the boat we will take you on a tour of the bay and stop at the arch for photos. Then we’re off to find humpback whales for the next 2 hours!

Your guide will then decide, based on conditions, which reef would be suitable to go snorkeling. They will choose a reef with fewer boats and sheltered surface conditions.

Tours leave at 8.30am or 1.30pm. For tours leaving Cabo San Lucas we will meet at Cabo Private Guide headquarters

From San Jose del Cabo

For tours leaving San Jose marina we meet outside the el Ganzo hotel at 8.30m or 1.30pm.

Los Cabos Whale Watching Season

If you arrive between December 15 and April 15 then this is a great tour to consider. It combines the best of both activities!

The whales migrate to the warmer waters of Cabo San Lucas from the north where the climate is more favourable for birthing their young. So most boats leaving the marina will run into the whales no matter the activity! The water tends to be cooler this time of year – so tagging a 2 hour whale watching activity at the beginning of a snorkel tour is a really nice idea.

At the same time the reefs are full of tropical fish families that are here all whale watching season. At the beginning of whale season we have chances to see schools of mobula rays congregating in huge numbers and then again in mid april.
